Bazzania adnexa - Liverworts with small underleaves 1

Family Lepidoziaceae

Bazzania is a liverwort with lateral leaves usually divided into 3-4 lobes and the lower leaves are much smaller than the lateral leaves. Stems often grow over one another and form long slender branches that grow downward interlocking plants into a firm mat. Stems are also characteristically Y-branched with dorsally convex leaves that stand out at right angles to the stem.
