Bryum laevigatum

Family: Bryaceae

Bryum laevigatum forms cushions up to 5 cm in height with the lower parts densely matted together with tomentum. The rather coarse-textured leaves are yellow-green, 2-3 mm long with recurved margins. The nerve length is variable and may fail before the leaf tip or extend to form a stout point.

Widespread in New Zealand on wet sites such as swamps, seepages or the edges of waterfalls.
